Many truckers are paid per delivery or per trip, not per hour or day. This model pushes them to drive faster, skip breaks, and avoid safe routes that take longer. Quantity overtakes quality, and speed compromises safety. Switching to time-based or performance-plus-safety incentive models could ease the pressure and foster safer driving habits.
