On April 24, 2026, the review meeting of MGNREGA Convergence was successfully concluded at Jawahar Bhawan, Lucknow, under the chairmanship of Commissioner, Rural Development, Shri G.S. Priyadarshi (GS Priyadarshi). In the meeting, clear instructions were issued, giving utmost priority to the quality and timeliness of development works, that no compromise with standards at any level would be acceptable.
During the detailed review of rural infrastructure, the concerned departments were directed to prepare a coordinated and effective action plan in accordance with the ‘VG-G Ram Ji’ Act, 2025. Special emphasis was laid on further strengthening departmental coordination for the successful implementation of the schemes and on submitting proposals in a timely manner.
The Commissioner also directed that to ensure the achievement of targets, the departments should promptly initiate works while submitting proposals at the district level. Additionally, if any problem related to MGNREGA Convergence arises, it should be immediately brought to the notice of the MGNREGA headquarters. The departments were instructed to share their expectations and requirements with the headquarters as well, so that coordination could be further strengthened and quick resolution of issues could be ensured.

On April 23, 2026, a detailed review meeting was organized at Jawahar Bhawan in Lucknow to assess the progress of various projects run by the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (UPSRLM) in line with their targets. The meeting was chaired by the Commissioner, Rural Development, Shri G.S. Priyadarshi (GS Priyadarshi).
The meeting involved an in-depth analysis of the progress of schemes under the mission, achievement of set targets, financial and physical accomplishments, and the status of implementation at the grassroots level. While reviewing district-wise progress, the Commissioner emphasized the adoption of a strategic approach to achieve the expected outcomes.
The Commissioner directed the officers to prepare a concrete action plan for the effective implementation of schemes, timely delivery of benefits to beneficiaries, and accelerating livelihood promotion activities. Additionally, instructions were given to ensure coordinated efforts for the empowerment of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), skill development, financial inclusion, and promotion of entrepreneurship. On April 16, 2026, a special session was organized under the auspices of the Uttar Pradesh Regional Branch of the Indian Institute of Public Administration at Jawahar Bhawan in Lucknow, as part of the Internship Training Program, in which Commissioner, Rural Development Shri G.S. Priyadarshi (GS Priyadarshi) participated as the guest. Addressing the final-year students of the Public Administration Department at Lucknow University, the Commissioner stated that rural development schemes do not merely create infrastructure but also impart new momentum to the rural economy. He elaborated in detail on major schemes such as MGNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), and the Chief Minister Awas Yojana.

On April 15, 2026, Shri G.S. Priyadarshi (G.S. Priyadarshi), Commissioner, Department of Rural Development, Uttar Pradesh, was present as the honored guest at the Uttar Pradesh Poultry Conclave-2026 organized by the Animal Husbandry Department. In his address, the Commissioner emphasized the need for better coordination between MGNREGA and the Animal Husbandry Department, suggesting that poultry sheds and cattle sheds be constructed in gram panchayats. This will strengthen the rural economy and provide better self-employment opportunities to animal rearers. This coordination in the field of rural development will prove to be a positive step.
